Hernan Lara-Padilla studied Mechanical Engineering and received his Master's degree in Industrial Automation in Ecuador. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. His Ph.D. project is focusing on the hybrid manufacturing of scaffolds with potential applications in tissue engineering. He works on combining the techniques of electrospinning and fused deposition modeling. As a mechanical engineer who enjoys building things, he is enthusiastic about getting more into biosciences. His research in the Osteo Engineering Lab consists of modeling and simulating the perfusion bioreactors in order to improve their performance.
