Ciro Rodriguez, Ph.D.

Ciro Rodriguez received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1989. He earned his M.S. (1993) and Ph.D. (1997) from The Ohio State University. His industrial experience includes tooling design for automotive components and machining process development. After a one-year appointment at the Engineering Research Center for Net Shape Manufacturing as Staff Engineer, he joined Tecnológico de Monterrey (a private university system in Mexico) as an Assistant Professor in 1998. In 2009, he was appointed Director of the Center for Innovation in Design and Technology, where he currently leads a multidisciplinary research group in Advanced Manufacturing. His current research interests are in scaffolds for tissue engineering, additive manufacturing, laser processing and micro-manufacturing.
